Coonawarra Cabernet

Coonawarra located in South Australia, produces what are arguably some of Australia’s best and most famous Cabernet Sauvignon wines. Soils and climate are alike are ideal for viticulture; mineral rich and free draining earth meets with cold winters and a long, cool ripening season allowing the grapes to slowly develop flavor and tannin ripeness.

Penley Estate is one of the great producers of Coonawarra. Established on limestone covered by the famous 'terra rossa' soil of the Coonawarra. This combined with ideal cool climatic conditions and an abundance of sunshine make a perfect location for vine growing. With an excellent vintage in 2006, Penley’s latest release wines are showing concentration, power and firm tannins. The hallmark features of quality wines.

Margaret River Chardonnay

Margaret River is an area that crafts some of Australia's finest Chardonnays. Situated at Australia’s most southwestern point and surrounded by ocean on three sides, Margaret River offers a consistent, maritime climate. Warm days are tempered by cool nights, protecting the vines from extreme temperatures. The wines boast rich flavors and texture, with great complexity and length of flavor.

Leeuwin Estate in Margaret River releases its premium wines under the ‘Art Series’ label. The fruit for the backbone of the ‘Art Series’ always comes from Block 20. Berries from this block are delicately, yet persistently flavored, with firm texture and high acid – features most suitable for crafting a wine of fine structure.

Complexity is married into the fruit through barrel fermentation in new French oak barriques, yeast lees contact and stirring, and if need be malo-lactic fermentation. It may take up to 18 months of barrel storage for the lime, peach and honeyed fruit tones to harmonize with the barrel ferment characters and the tannins and flavors of the oak. It is a wine acclaimed world wide for its complexity, length and fine structure. Leeuwin Estate Art Series has the longest quality track record of any Australian Chardonnay.
